Thai Oil Massage

About Thai Oil Massage

Within the field of massage in Thailand, Oil Massage is the most popular, it is a variant of Traditional Thai Massage and is performed on a massage table instead of the floor as with Thai Yoga Massage.

As this is an oil massage, you will be required to remove all outer clothing. Please ensure that you are wearing suitable undergarments. (I have disposable underwear if needed ).

Towels will then be used to cover the areas of the body not being worked on.

The massage lasts between 1 – 2 hours depending on your time and covers the full body.

Thai Oil Massage

Focused entirely on relaxation, Thai Oil Massage tends to be a little gentler but can be more firm if required, it is carried out using an odourless Oil and if required Tiger balm and involves long rhythmic strokes, kneading, rolling techniques , and stimulating movements using the hands, palms, forearms, knees, thumbs and fingers.

As the name suggests, Thai Oil Massage utilises the properties of specific warmed or cold oils to allow the therapist to glide over the skin with required pressure while also being able to work on specific areas as and when necessary.

The treatment aims to unblock, balance and restore the body’s natural flow of energy maintaining equilibrium in all organs and systems within the body thus preventing poor health and disease, enabling the body to heal itself and work efficiently.

Thai Aromatherapy Oil Massage

This is a therapy using highly concentrated plant oils know as Essential Oils which are added to an odourless base/carrier oil to generate scented aromas, during a massage you inhale molecules of essential oil or it is absorbed through your skin. Each of the essential oils have different properties, some help to relax, balance and calm the mind whilst others have a re-energizing and uplifting effect, whatever the reason for choosing certain essential oils the overall blend and essence of the aromas is truly wonderful.

Common essentials oils used are Lavender, Frankincense, Tea Tree, Lemon, Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Ylang Ylang, Rose, Clary Sage, Bergamot, Ginger, Neroli, and many more.
