Thai Yoga Massage
What is Thai Yoga Massage
Firstly as far as names are concerned Thai Yoga Massage is the same as Thai Massage or Traditional Thai Massage. Thai Yoga Massage is the only name which is not used in Thailand. This name has been coined by western therapists because of its similarity with yoga-style postures (asanas).
Thai massage is an ancient healing system that combines broad and targeted acupressure, stimulation and physical manipulation of energy pathways around the body called SEN combined with assisted yoga postures.
It is performed on a firm mattress on the floor with the practitioner and client wearing loose comfortable clothing, socks are optional, it is ideal for anyone who is uncomfortable with nudity.
What to Expect During a Session
Clients can choose a FIRM or GENTLE touch, NO OIL IS USED. ( clothing can be supplied if needed ).
Thai Massage works your entire body. It is one of the most invigorating types of massage. Treatment should never be painful but there can elements of discomfort. Despite its physical nature, Thai Massage remains a deeply relaxing treatment.
Particularly useful for people who spend a lot of time working in the office or sitting at a computer.
Rhythmic compression will be applied to the energy pathways and areas of the body using thumbs, palms, forearms, elbows, knees and feet as well as deep passive stretching, twisting, pulling movements and range of motion.
In this process joints are opened, muscles and tendons are stretched internal organs are toned nerves are calmed and blocked energy pathways are reopened to restore balance and harmony.
The Massage Session
I recommend that the massage should take between 1 to 2 hours depending on your time, it covers all areas of the body from feet to head. I can focus more on certain areas if necessary.
The overall effect is one of deep relaxation, rejuvenation and increased physical flexibility and mental well-being with results lasting long after the session is over.
Note: Thai Yoga Massage is active and interactive due to the constant contact between the practitioner and the client, this means the client is less likely to fall asleep as compared with a Thai Oil Massage.
